KnicksHonor Local High SchoolStudents With Dave DeBusschere Award
Nicole Brooks of Hartsdale, NY And DeVaughn Green Of Irvington, NJ To Be Honored Monday Night
NEW YORK, April 9, 2010 –The New York Knickerbockers will recognize Nicole Brooks (age 15) of Woodlands HS in Hartsdale, NY and DeVaughn Green (age 15), a home schooled student, of Irvington, NJ, as the recipients of the Dave DeBusschere Award for the 2009-10 season. Both students excelled in the classroom, on the basketball court and in the community, and have exemplified the same heroic characteristics that Dave DeBusschere carried throughout his life. At Monday’s game versus the Washington Wizards, Nicole and DeVaughn will be presented with the award by Peter DeBusschere, son of Dave DeBusschere.
Nicole is currently the co-captain of her high school varsity basketball team. She was chosen to play on varsity as an eighth grader and now excels in the 10th grade as a starting guard. Nicole has a grade point average of 3.76 and is a dedicated student enrolled in all honors classes. She was chosen for the International People to People Ambassador Program, and works in her
